SUMMER & FALL 2017 EVENTS: WHERE YOU WILL FIND YOUR CGC FAMILY ♥

  • June 8 & July 19 — Summer Group @ Plymouth Park Pavillion, 6-7pm: We will meet on the lawn between the water tower and Fun Zone, then go to the picnic table area on the other side of the shelter.  Look for the purple shirts.  Please bring your own drinks/snacks.  *Note: NO GROUP IF IT’S RAINING.
  • July 29 & 30 — McClaren Grief Camp for Children @ Camp Forget-Me-Not in Pinconning: Provides grieving children with an opportunity to share feelings and memories with others who are coping with similar loss, the chance to remember their loved ones and honor their expressions of grief, a fun weekend with other children who understand, and much more.  For more info, please call the McLaren Hospice Bereavement Department at (989) 316-4353.  *Free of charge, preregistration required.
  • August 6 — Walk for Hope 2017 – Survivors of Suicide (SOS) @ Northwood University, 8:30am registration: Walk for Hope is a 5K walk/run family friendly event to benefit Survivors of Suicide.  The yearly walk helps the organization to raise awareness around suicide in the community, gives survivors a chance to remember our loved ones, and helps to fund the services offered by SOS: suicide prevention, education, and aftercare for those impacted.  There is no registration fee, but the funds raised enable SOS to continue to do their amazing work and honor those lost to suicide and to support those who struggle with mental health issues.  All profits stay local to host trainings and events.   • August 1Don’t forget to REGISTER FOR GROUP!! 🙂  Please register for 2017-2018 Group by August 1 with Hillary Baldwin, our new Program Coordinator, by emailing her at Hillary@childrensgriefglbr.org or calling the office at (989) 495-9335.  We will have Mondays @ Messiah or Tuesdays @ Salvation Army in Midland (starting the end of September) or Wednesdays @ the Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum in Saginaw (starting the end of October).
  • August 7 — Loons Game for “Community Organization Night” – CGC @ Dow Diamond, 7pm: It’s official… we’ll be there!!  We will have lawn seats (20 available) and a table set up on the upper deck by the playground. Call to reserve free tickets from us (first-come, first-served!) or use your Walmart/Youth on Deck tickets you received on the last night of group if you want to attend on this night (don’t forget to call the Loons ticket office and request to change the dates!).
  • August 13-19 — Midland County Fair – CGC Booth in the Merchant Building Will Be Up All Week (volunteers need for 4-hour shifts): If you’re able to help, please call or email… Hillary can get you set up for your most preferred four-hour slot.  You are our best way to tell people what it’s like at group, and we’d love to have you!  Even if you can’t assist, we’d still love to see your faces so be sure to stop by if you’re at the fair!! 🙂
  • August 24 — 4th Annual CGC Picnic @ Plymouth Park Pavillion, 4-7pm: Bring a dish to pass and come celebrate the start of our 4th year!!!  WOOHOO!!  Games, food, lots of energy, the pool (for a $5/person charge) will be open for those that want to take their families to swim, and we may have a baseball game this year so be sure to bring your ball and gloves!
  • October 10 — 1st Annual Saginaw Hearts of Hope Luncheon @ Horizons Conference Center, 12-1pm:  Please save the date!  Details to follow…
  • October 11-13CGC is hosting the Dougy Center’s own DONNA SCHUURMAN!!  More details to come!
  • November 16 — National Children’s Grief Awareness Day!  Wear Blue in support of Grieving Children… Join the #CGADHOPE movement!
